Weight Ups and Downs.

My withing scale told me today 254.4 that is 10 pounds less the start of 2011. It is 50 pounds less then my heaviest. Bad news is it is 65 pounds more then I want to be and 65 more then the start of 2005.

March 5th. Workout #053-07

I weighed my self this morning and I am pretty happy with the weight loss so far. The biggest changes that I have done is to stay away from Diet Pop (No caffeine now) and Peanut butter.. I LOVE PEANUT BUTTER!!! I was already eating healthy. The last time I went shopping I bought the small jar of peanut butter. This keeps me out of it to make sure that Morgan will have some for her lunches.  Made it to the gym this evening to do my nautilus workout. I did 10 minutes on the Arc Trainer, Gravitron pull up machine, nautilus machines and the versa climber. I did 1,330 feet in 10 minutes. I need to get so I can do 10 minutes at my top speed. This will help me doing my stair climb at the end of the month. Steps for the day 9,307

3 years of a healthy life style

Here is the background of my weight problems.

First of all I want to say that I take full responsibility of me being overweight... It is not Fast Food places.. Not my parents.. Not my wife...It was my laziness and my enjoyment of food...

June 1984 weighed 197 at High School Graduation..
December 1991 Meet Kim for the first time.. Weighed 225...
September 1994 weighed 265 at our Wedding when I married Kim..
September 1996 bought Nordic Track trainer.. Used once.. Money not well spent..
September 1997 Motorcycle accident. Most embarrassing moment was stating I weighted 305 in front of my Mom..
February 1998 Started back at work... 287 pounds..
February 1998 Joined Omni Fitness Center. Lasted 2 weeks of going there.. Membership for a year... Again Money really not well spent..
August 2001 Joined the Strongsville Rec Center.. Went 1 day.. Joined for a year.. Again not money well spent..
January 2002 Weighed 265 pounds...

Now we fast forward to March 1 2004....
03-01-2004. Started trying to lose weight AGAIN....Weighed in this morning at 248 pounds..
03-15-2004 Joined Omni Fitness center again.. Hopefully I will get my money out of this place....


So in the last 3 years I have worked out 843 times, rode my bicycles over 3700 miles. I have been down to 190 pounds and back up to 226. I am on my way back down again. It aggravates me that I will have this battle for the rest of my life. It bothers me that I was down to a good weight and I let myself gain some weight back.

So I will continue on my weight loss battle and for a healthy lifestyle..

Portion Control Plate

I forgot to mention the yesterday about the serving size plate. It was brought up at the TDC meeting. It was desgned for diabetics but it would help anyone with portion control.

 You can purchase the portion control plate off of the American Diabetes Associtation online store. If you would use this for a while you would get used to the approximate size of correct portions. That is a problem that most people have. Ok.. I had 1 helping of meat.. yes but it was 12 ounces.. It should be 4 to 5.. I know what you are thinking I could just pile it on and fit that 12 oz steak on top of the compartments.. That is why there is a lid.. No you cannot carry around 5 of them.

While seaching for a picture of the plate (I googled it instead of going to the ADA website) I found an interesting blog about Scott Johnson with Type 1 diabetes. This is the one that used to be called Juvenille Diabetes.
